.....and so Indulgence With A Twist was born

Every journey starts with an idea and ours began with a simple but ambitious vision.

The name Indulgence With A Twist was created by Nickie and a close group of friends who shared a passion for music creativity and bringing people together. The original concept was to combine a welcoming coffee shop serving handmade cakes with a specialist vinyl record store creating a unique destination for music lovers.

The name reflected that vision perfectly. "Indulgence" represented the homemade cakes artisan coffee and relaxed café atmosphere while "With A Twist" celebrated the idea of discovering and purchasing vinyl records in an environment unlike any other.

Nickie had already spent many years designing and creating bespoke novelty cakes including intricate DJ deck creations inspired by her customers' favourite flavours while her friends had built years of experience behind the decks developing a lifelong passion for vinyl club culture and the music scene.

As plans for the café gathered momentum the world changed. When the COVID-19 pandemic brought countless businesses to a standstill the team adapted. Rather than putting their ambitions on hold they channelled their energy into building the events side of the business creating opportunities for artists and laying the foundations for what would eventually become something much bigger.

What began as the dream of a coffee shop and record store evolved into a thriving music platform supporting artists promoting events and creating opportunities throughout the independent music industry.

A New Chapter Begins

In January 2026 the decision was made to rebrand from Indulgence With A Twist to simply Twisted.

The new name was shorter stronger and far more memorable. It reflected how far the company had grown beyond its original concept creating a bold eye-catching identity that could represent every part of the organisation under one recognisable brand.

Today Twisted is home to a growing family of projects including Twisted Magazine Twisted Radio Twisted Recordz Twisted Apparel Twisted Steel and the Music Recognition Awards alongside live events artist promotion interviews reviews and community initiatives.

Although the name has changed the heart of the company remains exactly the same: supporting independent artists building opportunities and bringing people together through the power of music.

The journey that began with one simple idea continues to grow every day and we're incredibly excited about what the future holds.
